Bio
Maddie’s introduction to the world of outdoor recreation began unexpectedly during her freshman year of college, when she enrolled in an “Intro to Outdoor Leadership” class as an elective. This course was a turning point, opening her eyes to the myriad career possibilities in the outdoor industry. Stoked on this potential lifestyle, Maddie pursued a degree in Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management, setting the stage for a dynamic career.
Her professional path started in summer camps in Colorado, where she developed a deep love for outdoor education. Over the years, Maddie took on various seasonal roles, from teaching outdoor sports to youth, educating middle schoolers on fire ecology in the Rocky Mountains, and creating tire swings for children at a forest preschool in Denver. Each experience deepened her connection to nature and her commitment to sharing that passion with others.
In November 2022, Maddie ventured to Jackson Hole for the first time, taking on a role with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in ticketing and guest services. Drawn to the area’s beauty and outdoor lifestyle, she soon realized she wanted to take a break from the nomadic lifestyle that comes with seasonal work. Giving herself the deadline of April of 2023, she picked up the Jackson Hole Daily and flipped to the “help wanted” pages. Maddie preferred a guiding company since she was familiar enough with its work and seasonality.
As a reservation specialist, Maddie is the first point of contact for guests looking to book their ideal national park experience. She enjoys working alongside her colleagues, often finding that her work feels more like play.
