Bio
Colin spent his youth exploring the woodlands of western Pennsylvania. His enduring passion for the natural world led him to pursue a degree in Environmental Science. Following university, Colin worked as a wildlife manager in three national parks. He managed nesting sea turtles and shorebirds in Cape Hatteras, nesting shorebirds in Cape Cod, and helped protect sensitive wildlife in Gulf Islands during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Colin also spent a large portion of his early career capturing and banding birds for research. He led field crews for the United States Geological Survey on the same stretches of river Lewis and Clark had traveled on their great journey west.
Though his early career landed him on some of our country’s most beautiful beaches, Colin’s heart has always been in the mountains. The stories of long deep winters, amazing animals, and millions of acres of public land are what eventually brought Colin and his wife to Jackson Hole. After just one winter Colin was hooked and began working on a plan to make this amazing place their permanent home. Colin lives on the beautiful west slope of the Tetons and has been guiding tours and connecting visitors to this region for the last twelve years. His excitement and passion for all the inhabitants of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, from butterflies to bison, is infectious. Colin serves as the president of the Teton Area Birding Society and coordinates the Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count for Teton Valley.
Colin has led hundreds of wildlife viewing and photography tours in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and is eager to create lifelong memories for all his clients. In his free time, Colin enjoys climbing mountains, floating rivers, and an exhausting combination of winter sports. He is the father of two, and with the help of his wife, is raising some of the most curious and adventurous young naturalists in the region.
Colin Boeh was our guide and absolutely knocked it out of the park!!! We went the private route because we had our three little kids but also grandparents and he made the tour so fun for all ages! He knew exactly where to go for all of the animal action (even came across a bison stampede), was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiasm was contagious, had the best snacks for my kids, shared some amazing shots he captured on his phone and even taught us how to get better photo and video ops on our own phones which was an added bonus! Could not recommend this tour and our great guide more.
