Bio

Bucky was born in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating college from West Virginia he cycled across the United States. Starting in the Baltimore harbor and ending in Portland, Oregon. Along the trip he came through Wyoming. His last day in Wyoming was spent cycling into Jackson where he had a planned rest day. During this one day off of cycling he spent his day in the Tetons climbing and swimming in alpine lakes. After his short time in Jackson he knew then that it was going to be the place he would call home.

After completing the cycling trip Bucky moved full time to Jackson in the summer of 2019. Once back in the valley he wasted no time playing outside. Rafting, biking, climbing, and camping was always on the agenda and making sure to work enough to support his hobbies. During his first winter in Jackson, Bucky took a step forward in his guiding career by leading snowmobile trips in Yellowstone National Park. It was here that he learned how a professional outfitter ran and carried themselves. During that winter Bucky got to see some of the most incredible wildlife and wild scenes that made him fall more in love with this valley he calls home. After two winters spent in Yellowstone he got the itch to get back to the ocean.

In the summer of 2021 Bucky ventured out to the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State. He spent the summer guiding multi-day sea kayaking trips. Having seen some of the largest wildlife on land he was excited to see some of the largest mammals in the ocean. Teaching guests about marine life was exciting and new. The feeling of paddling with orcas and humpbacks incredibly exciting. The adventure spirit seemed to have amplified from the Tetons to the Pacific Ocean. However there was one place that kept ringing in Bucky’s head, that place was Jackson.

In 2023, after spending some time on San Juan Island and Seattle, Bucky got the itch to move back to the place he always loved. After returning to Jackson he wanted to spend some time back in the guide seat by teaching guests about the amazing wildlife and ecosystem here in the valley. While working as a wildlife naturalist Bucky became fascinated by the “behind the scenes” of a guide outfitter. He knew he wanted to pursue that field. This led to working the operations side of an outfitter. Having spent so much time as a guide he knows what our guides need and expect in the field. With his knowledge and expertise he is able to assist our guides in providing our guests with best experience in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
