Join professional wildlife photographer and divemaster Jason Williams for an unforgettable adventure to study and photograph Great White Sharks off the Guadalupe Islands. This is great white shark diving at its very best. Up to 120 individual sharks and crystal clear water with 125’ plus visibility. Enjoy a calm and sheltered anchorage with diving staged from the luxury liveaboard, Belle Amie. You will get up to 3 dives per day in submersible cages plus virtually unlimited diving in surface cages. This is natural interaction with great white sharks at its very best. October and November is when the “big momma’s” move in. These enormous females are 18-19 feet long with the girth of a Volkswagen! Guadalupe Island (Mexico) is the top destination for great white shark encounters. This small volcanic island located in the Pacific Ocean 240 kilometers (150 miles) off the west coast of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula outperforms both South Africa and Australia with shark-seeing consistency and watching conditions. Only Guadalupe Island can boast shark viewing in one-hundred-twenty-five-foot visibility! The Nautilus Belle Amie offers convenient evening departures, virtually unlimited diving, the opportunity to watch the great whites out in the open in 40 feet of clear blue water from the top deck of our double-decker submersible cages and all the services of a luxury liveaboard – from gear rental to attentive hostesses and sparkling-clear hot tub. This expedition departs from San Diego for 5 nights/6 days. On the first morning upon arrival we do warm-up dives and afterwards the pool is always open. The current record is 31.5 hours of cage time over 3 dive days! If you want to experience and photograph these awesome predators in their natural environment, then this is the trip for you. You don’t need a scuba certification to enjoy the surface cages but to take advantage of the submersible cages a scuba certification is required.

Note from Jason: The above itinerary is only an outline and is definitely flexible. We believe that the best adventures and the rarest experiences on earth can only be had by being open to changing plans and using our instincts to find those rare opportunities. We are not really a ‘tour’ company, we are an experience company. To us life is what you make of it. It can be viewed from inside a tour bus, where you are safely protected behind glass or experienced in the ocean face to face with a Great White Shark! We prefer experience and hope you do too! We hope you can join us on this once in a lifetime trip to see one of the most awesome and misunderstood animals alive on earth today.
Cancellation Policy: We have a 60 day cancellation policy for this expedition. Cancellations made outside 60 days will be refunded less a 50% cancellation fee. For cancellations made within 60 days from departure we will retain 100% of the trip cost. We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect you from incurring these costs in the event of an emergency. Due to the high cost of operating this expedition and the strict cancellation policies of our partners, these terms are non-negotiable and strictly enforced. Thanks for your understanding!
